Day 1
Fly overnight to Nairobi
Day 2
Fly onwards to Entebbe and, after you have been transferred to your hotel, head to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary for a fascinating insight into the lives of the orphaned chimpanzees who are cared for there.
Day 3
Fly onwards to the Kihihi airstrip, where you will be met and driven to your base for gorilla trekking. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, exploring your surroundings.
Day 4
Opportunity to trek once or twice during your stay in Bwindi - this would need to be confirmed at booking stages to ensure availability of gorilla permits.
Day 5
If you are not trekking the gorillas twice, take the opportunity to explore further: visit the local Batwa communities or follow the local forest trails.
Days 6-7
The remote Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth is about a two hour drive away and you will arrive in time for afternoon safari activities, a great opportunity to look for the famous tree-climbing lions.
Day 8
Second day in the National Park. Head out chimpanzee trekking in the Kyambura Gorge, explore from the skies in a hot air balloon, or on the water with a river cruise on the Kazinga Channel
Day 9
A day of travel today. Fly by light aircraft back to Entebbe and then onward to Dar. Choose to overnight here or fly the short distance to Zanzibar and stay in Stone Town overnight.
Day 10
Time to explore Stone Town this morning before you are picked up and transferred to your beach accommodation. Afternoon at leisure to settle in and relax.
Day 11
Day at leisure. You can do as much or as little as you please today although we highly recommend taking a breath and having a rest on your first full day. Perhaps have a chat with the staff of the hotel to see what they recommend for activities over the coming days. Zanzibar is not only a beautiful island paradise but is also full of interesting activities, history and culture.
Day 12
We recommend a visit to a spice farm during your stay on Zanzibar, something the island is famous for. While the experience can be a little touristy it is fascinating to see how and where the different spices are grown and you get to touch, feel and smell as you are guided around.
Day 13
There are many sea-based activities on offer in Zanzibar from wind-surfing, kite-boarding and snorkelling, to diving and sailing; if water sports are your thing do let us know and we will make suggestions for you. Alternatively, simply do nothing - the choice is yours!
Day 14
Another day on the beach to relax and enjoy your surroundings
Day 15
Final morning on the beach before you are picked up today and taken to the airport for your flights back to the UK (there are day and night flights available).

Everything we do is tailor-made; our itineraries are just suggestions to give you an idea of what is possible. Please contact us so we can tailor the perfect holiday exclusively for you.

Combining Ugandan wildlife and Tanzanian beach time gives a fantastic combination of active exploration, safari and well-earned relaxation. We suggest overnighting in Entebbe before heading into the tropical rainforest to trek the gorillas, and spending time with these wonderful animals. From here, the Queen Elizabeth National Park provides a more classical safari experience.
Fly back to Entebbe, and onwards to Zanzibar, where you will overnight in historic Stone Town before finishing your trip in style on the beaches. There are a host of hotels to choose from in Zanzibar ranging from larger all-inclusive properties to smaller more intimate boutique style hotels.

1 night Entebbe – 3 nights Bwindi – 3 nights Queen Elizabeth – 6 nights Zanzibar
